           Repaired Basement Wall Crack

Your guaranteed solution to leaking wall cracks is the innovative polyurethane concrete wall crack repair system with a 20-year transferable warranty. The Polyurethane Wall Crack Repair System is a permanent solution!

Wall Crack Repair Process:

Waters Basement Services seal the crack with a special flexible sealant on the surface of the crack from top to bottom.  This bead of sealant will slow, and in many cases stop, the flow of water through the crack.  We then stick the wicking drain strip material to the sealant and tuck it into the drainage created on the floor.  An overcoat of special sealant is applied over the wicking strip, overlapping onto the concrete wall at least 2” on each side.  The wicking strip is covered entirely, creating a sealed patch from the top of the crack to the bottom.  The wicking strip is a bond breaker between the top coat of sealant and the wall.  It serves to wick any water that gets past the first bead of sealant down into the drainage below.

The polyurethane concrete wall crack repair system is flexible and will not crack, leak and can flex.

Basement Drainage Drain Tile or French Drain

by Darlene Waters

Signs Your Home May Need to Have New Drain Tile / French Drain Installation:

                  Plugged Clay Drain Tile

Problem: Plugged Drain Tile

When water comes in on the basement floor where the basement wall(s) meet the floor, this is usually because your basement drainage has become clogged and can no longer accept water. Typically, this will begin in the furthest corner from where your sump basin and sump pump are. When drain tile, also known as French tile becomes clogged and can no longer drain the water from the walls or under the floor properly, new drain tile needs to be installed.

Install new drain white perforated drain tile to collect the wall and floor water into the sump basin and then pump it out of the basement. Waters Basement Services installs clean-outs in the basement drainage tile to enable your drain tile to be cleaned or flushed. Drain tile should be cleaned at least once a year, or more often depending on your soil type. Clean-outs enable the homeowner to clean their drain tile with a garden hose. If the homeowner prefers or is unable to use the clean-out Waters Basement Services will perform this service. Just as important is proper grading along the foundation and gutter downspout placement, you always want water to shed away from your home.

Camera Inspection of Drain Tile:

If you’re experiencing clogged drain tile, contact us to have a camera inspection of your drain tile. We service the Buffalo & Rochester NY areas. A drainage camera is very useful in helping to determine if your drain tile needs cleaning, is plugged, or filled with tree roots and must have new drain tile installed. The camera provides a view of the drain tile, (on a small TV screen) locating any tree root intrusions, breaks, plugs/blockages or other common problems. Having a drain camera inspection allows the homeowner to understand what potential issues may arise, or if they need to address a problem immediately. The best way to determine the condition of your drain tile is by a camera inspection.

Drain tile is the essential ingredient in effective basement waterproofing. Drain tile needs to be free of debris that can build up over time to operate correctly.

Basement floor drains work the same. A floor drain needs to be free of debris and be able to flow out into the storm drain. When the storm drain becomes overwhelmed with stormwater, this water may pour into your basement. You can have a backflow preventer installed or plug the floor drain, which prevents water from entering your basement when storm sewers become overwhelmed and cannot take water out.

Water is coming in on the floor where the basement walls and floor meet. Why?

Waterproofing Basement Wall Panel System

by Darlene Waters

Waterproofing Basement Wall Panel System

Before wall panels and drain tile system installed.

Waters Basement Services waterproofing basement wall panels are decorative and dramatically improve the appearance of your basement. We waterproof basements in the Rochester and Buffalo, NY areas with a guaranteed transferable warranty!

Basement walls are commonly damp, wet, discolored, and dirty. Coating them with any paints or sealers is not a long-term solution because moisture passing through the concrete will push the coating off of the wall. In many cases, walls look worse with peeling, flaky failed coatings.

Waters Basement Services waterproofing basement wall panels are semi-rigid waterproof plastic panels that fasten mechanically to the basement walls. Unlike a coating, they can never be pushed off by moisture coming through the wall. Wall panels install with special fasteners that  anchor into the concrete wall, so there is no adhesive bond.

Because the panels are 100% waterproof and have an antimicrobial backing, this helps prevents mold growth on the back side. They will not rot, or warp. Any water passing through the wall from wall cracks or other penetrations will run behind the panel and drop down into a waterproofing system along the basement floor.  Efflorescence from the concrete will not affect the panels and will be encapsulated behind the panels.
